David Croft Writes for Silverstone

It started at 11.30pm, continued at 2.11am and by the time Id looked at the clock four more times I gave up the ghost and headed downstairs. First night back from Australia jet lag, like an old school acquaintance you remember but would prefer not to hear from again, is back in my life. So it is that Im sat at my lap top, cat purring up against my legs, Bose headphones plugged in and the rather excellent new Joe Pug album washing over me, writing this blog to you all.

But in the back of my mind I know that its not just the jet lag that ruined my sleep tonight. Ive been thinking what to write in this blog ever since the Chequered Flag fell in Melbourne and the first tweets to #AskCrofty came flooding in. Tweets that, as you would expect, were hardly complimentary from fans who had sacrificed a decent nights sleep in return for a spectacle that, sadly, failed to live up to expectations......
