Belgian GP Top Tracks

1. Summer Fun - The Barracudas

Back to 1981 for this all time classic. Fun and with plenty of attitude, my kids love it and to be honest we had it playing by the pool quite often on holiday. Altogether now Bar! Bar! Ra! Ra! Cu! Cu! Da! Da!, yeah, you can’t beat it

2. Vintage Trouble - Run Like The River

The opening track from their latest release ‘1 Hopeful Road.’ Hand clapping gospel and dirty blues, or in the bands words. Live-wired, straight-shootin, dirty-mouth'd, pelvis-pushing juke music. Either way, it’s impossible to keep your feet still as you listen

3. Iron Maiden - Speed Of Light

I remember going to see Maiden on my 30th Birthday and feeling quite old as I’d been listening to the band for the best part of 18 years and my long hair was now, sadly, a lot shorter. Now I’m 45, I feel younger than ever, the hair is still short and Maiden are still producing brilliant music. This track is the first to be released from their new new double album ‘The Book Of Souls’. I haven’t heard it all. It’s on order and I literally can’t contain my excitement. If this track is anything to go by, it’s going to be a classic.

4. Disturbed - The Vengeful One

The playlist gets a bit heavier from here on with The Vengeful One, Disturbed’s first release for some time, 4 years in fact. By the sounds of it, the hiatus has done them the world of good, this is a proper good rock track and has been playing loudly and rather excessively at Chez Croft for a while now

5 Slayer - When The Stillness Comes

Slayer, what can you say about Slayer. The world would be a hell of a lot quieter and a damn sight duller without them. According to guitarist Kerry King he got goose bumps after writing this. After all, in his own words, he always wrote the crazy, punk stuff and deceased founder member Jeff Hanneman would do the “moody stuff”. Well Hanneman would be proud of this and the release of the new album in September is eagerly awaited.
